Position Announcement: Clinical Assistant Professor, Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery

POSITION: Full-time, 100% (12-month basis), Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery (FARMS) section.

LOCATION: Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois, Urbana, IL 61802.

SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a DVM degree (or equivalent). Preference will be given to candidates with board certification or board eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). An advanced degree and residency training in food animal medicine and surgery is desirable. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and a desire to train professional students.

DUTIES: Candidates will be expected to participate in the clinical activities of the Food Animal Medicine and Surgery service, which includes medical and surgical care of hospitalized patients and routine ambulatory service to the University of Illinois Dairy Farm. The service encompasses a broad range of species, including dairy and beef cattle, sheep, goats, camelids, and cervids. Participation in the clinical teaching activities of the Equine Medicine and Surgery section is also desirable. Candidates will contribute to the clinical training of professional students, interns, and residents. Opportunities will be available for didactic teaching, collaborative research, educational outreach, and production medicine activities. Candidates will share emergency duty with other FARMS clinicians.
