Position Announcement: Professional Services Veterinarian - Swine (Northern Iowa, Southern Minnesota)

Job Description:

• Effectively communicate with producers and veterinarians on problems (i.e. focus utilizing Novartis Animal Health (NAH) products to solve producer’s problems). This function will require farm visits and associated veterinary functions such as herd exams, necropsy, clinical inspections, etc.

• Effectively communicate with management on new product ideas or product improvements, and advise Sales and Marketing on ways to improve market share of NAH US swine products as deemed necessary. Continually assess and advance NAH sales staff’s technical knowledge.

• Act as a liaison on sADE with Pharmacovigilance. Assist Technical Services staff with sADE, including farm investigations and diagnostic consultation, if necessary.

• Effectively communicate with Regulatory Affairs Manager and R&D on needed label changes on products to avoid misunderstanding or misuse of these products.

• Work actively with the marketing team as needed to help with advertising ideas, actual advertising copy, and ad-editor.

• Prepare written material and perform public speaking to inform audiences about NAH products and general scientific information at sales meetings, other professional meetings, or other media venues as deemed necessary.

• Must reside in the Midwest (prefer Minnesota, Iowa or Illinois).

Minimum Requirements:

• DVM Degree (required)

• 10 years veterinary practice with emphasis in swine medicine

• Advanced degrees or board certification encouraged

• Ability to communicate effectively, and effective interpersonal skills

• Computer skills

• Experience in large swine production
