Introductory Herd Health Investigation Online Course

The online course, offered by Massey University, gives an overview of population health and food animal production management relevant in the context of your working environment. This will include an overview of epidemiology, management of herd health and monitoring of production. A large proportion of the second segment of the course will focus on applied learning and will be predominantly activity-based.

Who is this course suitable for?
If you are a veterinary graduate with a background in livestock science, work in an institutional capacity or in a clinical role, and have an interest in epidemiology and herd health management, this course will be relevant to you.

This is a fully taught and assessed course, actively developed and structured to be relevant and meaningful for your work, with recent research and capability informing the content.

Course structure
This is a ten week course. Courses commence 4 March 2013 and 26 August 2013.

This online course is a combination of learning activities and discussion, using recent technologies to communicate course content and facilitate forums. You'll be joining a class of like-minded professionals—there is an emphasis on sharing information and the opportunity to form networks.

Successful completion will earn five credits towards enrolment in Massey University’s Master of Veterinary Medicine, an in-depth, distance-learning postgraduate qualification. A Certificate of Completion is awarded to those who successfully pass the assessment.
