Volunteers Sought to Staff Animal Connections Exhibit at WPX
May 28, 2014 — American Veterinary Medical Foundation
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) have partnered with the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) and Zoetis to create Animal Connections: Our Journey Together, a custom-built exhibition housed on an 18-wheel truck that introduces visitors of all ages to the complex bond between humans and animals. The exhibit - which appeared at the recent AASV Annual Meeting in Dallas - will stop at the World Pork Expo on Wednesday, June 4, and Thursday, June 5. AVMF is seeking veterinarians to volunteer for one of several two hour shifts to work with the public within the exhibit. Volunteers will interact and engage with the public about the veterinary field and the human-animal connection. To volunteer, contact Laura Roth at AMVF: (847) 285-6689 or lroth@avma.org.
