$3,300 Veterinary Internship Stipend Attention ALL Current 1st and 2nd Year Veterinary Students No Experience Required The National Pork Industry Foundation (NPIF) has provided funding for six veterinary students to gain experience in the swine industry through a summer internship with a swine practitioner. The NPIF stipends are intended for any 1st or 2nd year veterinary student, regardless of any previous swine experiences. Students with little to no experience are highly encouraged to apply. The swine industry is rapidly changing and evolving and there is a demand for veterinarians dedicated to this industry. The role of the veterinarian is vitally important in producing a safe, wholesome pork product in an efficient and responsible manner. If you have any interest in exploring the field of swine veterinary medicine, this is the perfect opportunity – you will gain valuable experience and get paid well for it. Funded by: National Pork Industry Foundation The National Pork Industry Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) corporation. The purpose of the Foundation is to promote activities in the swine industry related to research and education. The Foundation grants funding to programs that will benefit pork producers and help to address the needs of today’s pork industry. The Foundation is administered by the National Pork Industry Council. The American Association of Swine Veterinarians Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) corporation. Its mission includes "supporting the development and scholarship of students and veterinarians interested in the swine industry." The AASV Foundation administers funding for keynote lectures at the AASV Annual Meeting, awards scholarships to veterinary students and graduate students, funds research with direct application to the profession, and funds additional programs designed to benefit swine veterinarians and veterinary students.
