American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) members in District VII (Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota) will soon be receiving ballots to elect a new AVMA Executive Board representative. In an effort to ensure that food animal interests are represented within the AVMA, the AASV and AABP (American Association of Bovine Practitioners) have endorsed Dr. Rick Sibbel’s candidacy for this position. The AASV encourages members in AVMA District VII to participate in this important election by marking and returning their ballot for Rick Sibbel.
Dr. Sibbel is a past president of the AASV and has extensive experience in organized veterinary medicine, having served on numerous committees in both the AASV and AVMA. His professional experience includes rural mixed animal practice in Nebraska and employment in industrial veterinary medicine. He currently serves as Director of Global Ruminant Technical Services for Schering-Plough Animal Health. The AASV is confident that Dr. Sibbel will serve as an active and vocal advocate for food animal veterinarians, rural practice, and animal agriculture.
Dr. Sibbel’s opponent is Dr. Clark Fobian, a companion animal practitioner/practice owner in Sedalia, Missouri.
