The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) named its new officers and members of the board of directors during Pork Forum March 4th in Kansas City, MO.
Joy Philippi, a pork producer from Bruning, NE, will lead the organization as president in 2006 replacing Don Buhl who will continue to serve on the board as immediate past president. Jill Appell, co-owner of Appell’s Pork Farms of Altona, IL will serve as president-elect. Bryan Black, of Ned Black and Sons Farms, was elected vice-president. Mr. Black, from Canal Winchester, OH was also elected to the board of directors.
Other newly elected members of the board include: Don Butler of Clinton, NC, Bob Dykhuis of Holland, MI and Doug Wolf from Lancaster, WI all of which will serve three-year terms. Also joining the board for two-year terms was Terry Vanlaningham of Mentone, IN and Quentin Bottorff from Phibro Animal Health. Mr. Bottorff represents allied industries.
