Position Announcement: Research Assistantship

Iowa State University is recruiting a student to participate in a project on research synthesis and epidemiology. The project is a collaborative effort with faculty at Iowa State University between computation linguists, statisticians and biologists and is related to machine learning and information retrieval in food and feed sciences. The student will be based in the College of Veterinary Medicine and work with the other disciplines as needed. The student will be trained in advanced quantitative methods and epidemiology. The exact thesis topic may relate to the machine learning projects, infectious diseases or food safety. The position may be a Masters or a PhD depending upon the students background and prior training.

Qualifications

Applicants with BSc in biological sciences, nutritional sciences or related sciences, a DVM degree, or master degree in epidemiology or related area and demonstrated interest in developing quantitative skills are strongly preferred. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Preventive Veterinary Medicine graduate program at ISU. Applications for the fall admission are due on March 30th.
