Public Health
An important part of the AASV mission is to advocate for science-based approaches to veterinary, industry, and public health issues. Swine veterinarians play a critical role in promoting and protecting public health every day. They ensure a safe food supply, conduct surveillance for emerging and zoonotic diseases, and promote responsible use of antibiotics.
