AASV Spouse Activities
We are pleased to welcome spouses and families of AASV members to Phoenix!
Please feel free to attend the company-sponsored social events with your AASV meeting attendee, including the Alltech Luncheon (noon Sunday), the Pfizer Animal Health Welcome Reception (6:30-8:30pm Sunday), and the Intervet/Schering-Plough Student Reception (8:30 - 11:00pm Sunday). You may also purchase tickets for Monday night's AASV Awards Reception (co-sponsored by Elanco) - available on the registration form or at the meeting.
The websites Visit Phoenix and Arizona Tourism and Travel will help you explore the attractions and activities available in the area. Our meeting hotel, the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, is an all-suite property nestled into the rugged terrain of the North Mountains, approximately 20 minutes away from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

AASV Prayer Breakfast

For many, Sunday is a day to gather with family and friends for spiritual nourishment and encouragement in faith. So bring your family and join your AASV friends for a devotion, music, and fellowship at the AASV Prayer Breakfast! Dr. Tom Gillespie will provide a brief devotion while you enjoy breakfast. Then, join in musical worship led by the members of the praise and worship band: Drs. Monte Fuhrman, Harold Tilstra, and Tom Wetzell. Your free-will offering, along with support from Newsham Choice Genetics, will defray the cost of the breakfast. The devotion will conclude by 8:00 AM to allow you to attend the meeting sessions, but feel free to stay and visit if you wish. All AASV meeting attendees and their family members are welcome!

Spouse Tour: Desert Adventure Jeep Tour

Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Meet in the resort lobby by 8:45 AM for departure
Fee: $110 per person
Prepare for adventure! A caravan of comfortable four-wheel drive jeeps will pull up to the resort and your cowboy guide will greet you as you load into the off-road vehicles for a morning of adventure in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. You will explore an area known for the mystery of its traditions and the majesty of its mountain ranges. This is a time to connect with the land, yourself, and others with whom you will share the intrigue of seeing Arizona up close.
Once on the trail, your cowboy guide will tell tales of the Arizona backcountry and the Indians that once lived there. In the desert, a short guided nature walk will enable you to get up close to Arizona nature. You’ll learn about the numerous uses of the various Sonoran Desert plants - from modern medicine and cosmetology to a food source. Don’t forget to bring your cameras and/or video recorders to take home memories of your Desert Adventure!
The registration fee includes transportation, guided desert tour and nature walk, iced soft beverages and gratuities. Space is limited; pre-registration is required!

(Enter the registration in the veterinarian's name - if already registered there is a "No charge" option for the meeting registration fee - then enter the number and names of the jeep tour participants before proceeding to the payment page).
Please note, this tour is not recommended for pregnant women or those with orthopedic issues such as back problems.
