Handmade Mayan-styled Ceramic Figurine
Donated by: Dr. Boguslaw Zakrzewski

Dr. Boguslaw Zakrzewski lives in Poland, where he works for MSD Animal Health. He says, "As a veterinary doctor specializing in pig diseases, being frequently a guest at many AASV conferences organized in the USA, I have repeatedly observed auctions which have always been one of the parts of this wonderful undetaking. By offering this figurine, it will be a great honor for me to be helpful in a charity auction organized by American colleague veterinarians."

Dr. Zakrzewski, an enthusiast of the culture and traditions of the ancient Maya from the Yucatan peninsula, after a trip where he was inspired by the great art of the local artists, decided to create handmade copies based on artifacts found in the region. This figurine is one of his reproductions. It is a biscuit figurine formed from ceramic clay, then fired in a ceramic oven. It measures approximately 30 cm x 30 cm.
