Bill Addressing Regional Veterinary Shortages Introduced
April 24, 2019 —
Wonderful news from the Senate: On April 11, Sens. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) introduced the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program Enhancement Act. This legislation would maximize the use of the funding for the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program - which provides educational loan assistance to food animal and public health veterinarians who commit to practicing in U.S. Department of Agriculture-designated veterinary shortage areas - so we can close veterinary access gaps in more rural communities. Send a letter asking your lawmakers to support this bill.
