Biosecurity for Youth Swine Exhibition
January 23, 2008 —
Regardless of how many pigs young producers care for, be it one or one hundred, young producers are part of the industry and they are as responsible for the health of the industry's herd as every other producer in the United States. A new brochure, A Champion's Guide to Youth Swine Exhibition: Biosecurity and your Pig Project, helps young pork producers understand the value of good biosecurity and of having a relationship with a swine veterinarian. The document was developed by the American Association of Swine Veterinarians and the Pork Checkoff.
The brochure is available electronically online at http://www.pork.org/PorkScience/SwineHealth/BY.pdf or in print from the Pork Store . The brochure's reference number is #04827.
