Partial budget analysis is a powerful yet simple techniquethat enables producers to predict the impact a management interventionwill have on profitability in their operations. This article presentsa partial budget model to predict how a change from conventionalweaning to segregated early weaning, with a concomitant increasein breeding herd size from 250 to 500 breeding females, will effectprofitability in a hypothetical herd. Sensitivity analysis isalso discussed.
