This case summarizes the use of molecular diagnostics for determiningthe pattern of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV) transmission in piglets after birth and whether transmissionwas related to herd parity. We also assessed the effectivenessof the recommended intervention strategy in controlling viralshedding.
