AASV Technical Tables Exhibit

The "Tech Tables" technical service promotion at the American Association of Swine Veterinarians Annual Meeting offers a premier opportunity for commercial technical representatives to exchange information and interact with swine veterinarians from around the world.

The 2011 AASV Annual Meeting will be held March 5-8, 2011 at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. Based on previous meeting attendance, we expect approximately 900 attendees, including 600 swine veterinarians and 100+ veterinary students. The primary function of the meeting is to provide continuing education to swine veterinarians. Non-veterinary attendance is limited to AASV Affiliate Members, veterinary students, invited speakers, and Technical Table representatives. Typically, 20-25% of our meeting attendees are from outside the United States, with registrants from more than twenty different countries.

Approximately 60 companies participate each year in the AASV Technical Tables display. These include pharmaceutical and biological companies, equipment manufacturers, genetics and seedstock suppliers, nutritional and feed ingredient companies, technology systems providers, and industry publications. Many companies have already registered to participate in Phoenix. The list of companies who participated in last year's exhibit is here.

The Technical Tables 2011 exhibit will take place according to the following schedule:

  • Receive table assignments/Set up
    • Monday, March 7      7:00 am - 9:00 am
  • Technical Tables display open
    • Monday, March 7      9:00 am - 5:00 pm
    • Tuesday, March 8     8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Each participating company is provided with a draped 3' x 6' table from which to distribute information and visit with the meeting registrants. As in the past, material presented on the table is limited to scientific, educational information that will best inform practitioners about each company's products and services. Booths, overhead or vertical banners, and tabletop displays are not permitted, nor is selling of product from the tables. We feel this modest approach to the commercial trade show provides a level playing field for all participants and allows the event to concentrate on education and information, in keeping with the nature of the meeting.

The Technical Table exhibit registration fee of $1800 includes the draped table and three chairs as well as meeting registration for up to three company representatives named on the application. The Tech Table registrants are welcome to attend any of the scientific sessions beginning Sunday noon through Tuesday, and receive tickets for Monday's luncheon and evening awards reception and Tuesday's breakfast. In addition, Technical Table representatives may register for the pre-conference seminars on Saturday and Sunday by paying the seminar registration fee(s).

Up to three company representatives in addition to the three included on the exhibit application may register for the meeting at the non-member rate. Any additional representatives beyond these six are eligible to register only if they meet the attendance criteria (i.e., must be a veterinarian, veterinary student, AASV affiliate member, or invited speaker).
