A $400 gift card for Burger's Smokehouse! Burger's Smokehouse is a family-owned business since 1952 in California, Missouri. Their beginnings can be traced back to 1927, the year E.M. Burger cured his first hams. It was a time when most folks didn't have iceboxes, much less refrigerators. But they had a hog or two. And they needed to eat. So using his mother's age-old curing recipe brought over from Germany, Mr. Burger cured hams using a mixture of salt, pepper and brown sugar. In that first year, he sold six hams. The next, he sold 12. In 1930, E.M. married his wife, Natalia and together, they cured and sold 24 hams. Their small business grew steadily over the years and in 1952, the first Ham House was built on the family farm. Today, Burger's Smokehouse remains owned and operated by the third and fourth generations of the Burger family. The very first farm house still remains a part of their plant complex. Over the years, they have expanded their line to include a variety of delicious proteins, cheeses and desserts. You can find their full story and product offerings at www.smokehouse.com.

29. Bose Sport Ear Buds
Donated by: Dr. Larry Rueff
Winning Bidder: Dr. John Kolb, $180

New! Bose Sport Earbuds make your music sound like the performer is right there beside you, pushing you to go one more mile or do one more rep. Bose Sport Earbuds come with three sizes of StayHear™ Max tips, so you can find the right fit for you. Every surface that touches your ear is made of soft silicone — not hard plastic — and by applying pressure evenly across your ear, the eartips avoid putting extra pressure on the most sensitive parts. Meanwhile, the unique umbrella-shaped tip and the extended flexible wing keep your Bose Sport Earbuds securely in place — without need of an ear hook — no matter how much you shake your head or jump up and down.

Instead of buttons, Bose Sport Earbuds feature a capacitive touch interface. That means the outer surface of each earbud works like a touchpad. On the right earbud, double-tap to play or pause music and to answer calls. And on the left earbud, double-tap to engage a Shortcut function of your choice.

When you get a phone call while wearing Bose Sport Earbuds, instead of interrupting your workout, simply double-tap the right earbud to answer or press and hold to reject. If you answer, you’ll hear the call clearly in both ears. Meanwhile, thanks to the beamforming microphone array that separates your voice from surrounding noise, the caller will hear you clearly, too.

Bose Sport Earbuds provide up to five hours of battery life per charge. They’re charged by placing them in the included charging case. If the case is charged, it will automatically charge the earbuds. When its fully charged, the case can provide two full charges for up to 10 more hours of use. And if your battery runs out when you’re on the go, you can do a 15-minute quick charge for up to two hours of playback time.

Bose Sport Earbuds connect to the free Bose Music app, which lets you name your earbuds, set the controls the way you like them, check your battery life, manage your Bluetooth connections, and more. It’s also how you get software updates with new features.

50. Certified Talavera Pottery Oval Plate with AASV Logo
Donated by: Dr. Joaquin Becerril
Winning Bidder: Dr. Lisa Tokach, $170

Talavera pottery is a Mexican and Spanish tradition from Talavera de la Reina in Spain. The Mexican pottery is a type of majolica or tin-glazed earthenware, with a white base glaze typical of the type. It comes from the town of San Pablo del Monte and the cities of Puebla, Atlixco, Cholula, and Tecali, because of the natural clay found there and the tradition of production which goes back to the 16th century. Much of this pottery was decorated only in blue, but colors such as yellow, black, green, orange, and mauve have also been used.

Majolica pottery was brought to Mexico by the Spanish in the first century of the colonial period. Production of this ceramic became highly developed in Puebla because of the availability of fine clays and the demand for tiles from the newly established churches and monasteries in the area. The industry had grown sufficiently that by the mid-17th century, standards and guilds had been established that further improved the quality, leading Puebla into what is called the "golden age" of Talavera pottery. Formally, the tradition that developed there is called Talavera Poblana to distinguish it from the similarly named Talavera pottery of Spain. It is a mixture of Italian, Spanish, and indigenous ceramic techniques.

The AASV plate measures 43 x 33 cm and bears the marks and seal of authenticity on the back.
