CE: Three new FREE CE courses from the Center for Food Security and Public Health

The Center for Food Security and Public Health at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine (CFSPH) has three new, FREE, continuing education courses available!

Cleaning and Disinfection in Animal Settings (https://www.cfsph.iastate.edu/product/cleaning-disinfection-animal-settings-course/ link to course information page)

  • The C&D Basic course uses a practical approach to overview the key principles of cleaning and disinfection, the steps of C&D process, tips when performing C&D procedures, factors that can affect disinfection success, and safety considerations during the process. This course will be useful for anyone working in animal settings and will help provide practical knowledge and tips for successful C&D efforts. This course has been RACE®-approved for 2 hours of CE credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
  • The C&D Advanced course discusses the science behind C&D and important considerations when setting up a C&D program. It focuses on the key principles of C&D in animal settings, disinfection methods and how to select them, how to implement C&D procedures effectively and safely, and factors that can affect the success of a disinfection program. This course was developed for veterinarians and other animal health professionals who want comprehensive information on C&D in animals settings. It has been RACE®-approved for 4 hours of CE credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Organic and Alternative Animal Health Continuing Education Series (https://www.cfsph.iastate.edu/product/organic-alternative-animal-health/ link to course information page)

  • This online course includes 6 chapters on the growing industry of organic and alternative livestock production. Chapters provide an overview of the industry, prevention, rules and regulations for production, communication and practice management considerations, and treatment and modalities for organic and alternative livestock. The materials are applicable for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, extension personnel, and other animal health professionals. In total, the series has been approved for up to 7 RACE® CE credits.
