Novartis Animal Health Acquires Denagard?

Novartis Animal Health has announced an agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. to purchase the Denagard® (tiamulin) brand franchise.
According to an October 10th press release, "Novartis pioneered tiamulin, the active ingredient in Denagard®, and markets it under the Tiamutin® brand name in other key swine markets throughout the world. It is a member of the pleuromutilin class of antibiotics, which is reserved worldwide for animal use and is not used in human medicine."All current product formulations will remain the same, but the packaging will change to reflect the Novartis brand.
