Scholarship Funding Renewed for 2011

The AASV Foundation is pleased to announce that Alpharma Animal Health and the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation (on behalf of Elanco Animal Health) have renewed their financial support for the AASV Student Seminar and Veterinary Student Scholarships. For 2011 alone, the combined support totals $40,000.

For the past ten years, Alpharma Animal Health has sponsored the Student Seminar, held during the AASV Annual Meeting. Alpharma's sponsorship expanded to include the Student Poster Session when it began in 2007. The company's support, in the amount of $20,000 per year, provides travel stipends for participants in the student seminar and poster session as well as the $5000 scholarship for the student oral presentation judged best overall.

The Eli Lilly and Company Foundation, on behalf of Elanco Animal Health, has funded swine veterinary student scholarships for the past twelve years. The Eli Lilly & Co Foundation recently renewed their funding commitment for an additional three years, at the level of $20,000 per year. The funds will allow the AASV Foundation to award fourteen scholarships each year. The scholarships, ranging in amount from $500 to $2500, are awarded to veterinary students who participate in the Student Seminar at the AASV Annual Meeting.
